What are the core beliefs of your church?
We are a Christian church not affiliated with any denomination. We believe in the Holy Trinity, the divinity of Jesus Christ, and the authority of the Bible. Our teachings align with early Christian theology, emphasizing grace, redemption, and personal relationship with God.
What is the worship style at Origin?
Our worship services blend traditional and contemporary styles. We have a mix of hymns and modern worship music, led by our praise team and band. Our services also include prayer, scripture readings, and a sermon that aims to apply biblical teachings to everyday life.
What are the service times?
We gather on Saturday at 11:15 AM. Our service lasts about 90 minutes. We also have a mid-week service on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 PM.
What programs are available for different age groups?
For children, we offer educational childcare during our morning services and a Wednesday evening program on the last Wednesday of each month. Our youth group meets on Friday nights. Adults have various small group Bible studies and fellowship gatherings throughout the week.
How can new members get involved?
Newcomers are encouraged to attend our Welcoming class, which introduces our church’s vision and ministries. After that, you can join small groups, volunteer in our various ministries, or participate in community service projects.
What is the church’s stance on community outreach and missions?
Our church is actively involved in local community service, including food drives and supporting homeless shelters. We also support international missions, both financially and through short-term mission trips.
What are the expectations for members?
While we encourage regular attendance and participation in church activities, there are no strict requirements. We also suggest, but do not mandate, tithing as a way to support the church’s ministries.
Who is the leadership, and what is their background?
Our Senior Pastor, Juan Labrador holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology from Southern University (Collegedale, TN) along with a Master in Divinity from Andrews University (Berrien Springs, MI) and has been leading our congregation for 10 years. We have a team of associate pastors and elders who oversee various ministries and pastoral care.
How does the church handle giving and financial transparency?
Members are encouraged to give as they feel led, with no minimum requirement. We are committed to financial transparency, providing regular reports on how funds are used for church activities and missions.
Are there any special community traditions or events?
We hold quarterly communion services which include the washing of each other’s feet as instructed by Jesus. We also commemorate Jesus’ resurrection as what many call an Easter celebration. We also organize very captivating Christmas programs as an opportunity to share the true meaning of Jesus’ birth, death, and resurrection to the world. Lastly, we host special guest speakers and community outreach events throughout the year such as picnics and other festivities.
